How is it 2023 already? I know I’m not alone in wondering where the last few years have gone. It’s been a bit blink and you’ll miss it.
I’m writing this blog as a new start for my site and I’ll be keeping it as up to date as possible with any news I have.
I thought I’d make this blog post a round up of what I actually managed to achieve in 2022. I’m trying to give myself credit for the things I have managed to accomplish rather than putting myself down for not sticking to my grand plans. So here’s what I did:
1. Published Game Changer (Book 3 in the Game Series)
2. Finished Wicked Game (Book 4 in the Game Series) and got it off for editing
3. Wrote a story for a Christmas anthology
4. Revamped my planning system to ensure I don’t set goals that are unattainable
Okay, so I know youre likely looking at this list and thinking ‘is that it Claire?’. And believe me, when I wrote the list I thought the same. However, for me, 2022 was an incredibly productive year compared to those that have gone before. And I think for the first time in forever I actually feel proud of what I managed to pull off.
So where do I go from here? Well, as I said in point 4, I have revamped my planning system and I’m going into 2023 with a realistic plan for my writing. I’d love to be the kind of author that churns out five or six books a year, but that simply isn’t me. So this year I’m setting the realistic goal of publishing two books this year and having one written and ready for publishing in the first quarter of 2024. I’m sure it’ll be interesting to come back and review this post at the same time next year and see what I actually managed to achieve. Here’s hoping I don’t have to look at it and cringe.
My love to you all for sticking with me and here’s to an even better year to come.
Claire x
